Dr. Krithishree S.S. is a consultant psychiatrist practising in Mangalore, offering a full spectrum of care — general adult psychiatry, addiction psychiatry, behavioural issues in children, and pain & palliative medicine with a special interest in psycho-oncology.
She works from a simple but important conviction. As she has written, "like any other physical illness, mental illnesses — apart from having a psychological basis — also result from biological perturbations." Mental illness is not a personality flaw, a weakness, or something to simply push through.
Much of her published writing is dedicated to separating real, treatable illness from myth — that depression is "a normal part of ageing," that social withdrawal is just shyness, that seeking help is a last resort. Her approach is warm, educational and genuinely practical, and it consistently extends to the families and caregivers who carry so much of the load.
